13 Moons Theory
Time becomes a mirror when witness returns at a consistent rhythm.
The 13 Moons system is a symbolic calendar architecture built around thirteen equal 28-day cycles. Its purpose is not to replace civil time or astronomical measurement. It gives the Codex a repeating frame for daily witness, pattern review, memory, seasonal transition, and return.
Orientation
Three layers of time remain distinct.
Astronomical time
Observed lunar phase, solstices, equinoxes, sunrise, sunset, seasons, and measured celestial positions.
Codex time
A regular 13×28 witness matrix that gives daily records a repeating symbolic position inside the year.
These layers can be displayed together without claiming they are identical. The Codex calendar should show its symbolic Moon and Day coordinate alongside the Gregorian date and the separately calculated visible lunar phase.

A Codex year contains thirteen equal Moons. Each Moon contains 28 days. The coordinate \(m\) identifies the Moon, \(d\) identifies the Day, and \(k\) gives the position inside the 364-day matrix.
Transition and anchoring
A 364-day matrix does not equal the length of the tropical year. The system therefore requires a declared anchor and transition rule. The current Codex model begins from the first New Moon after the spring equinox and treats the threshold between matrices as an explicitly named transition period.
Cycle Architecture
Four weeks inside every Moon.
1–7
Opening
Define intention, frame the cycle, gather source, and begin the witness record.
8–14
Building
Act, create, compare, test, and observe what gains momentum.
15–21
Revelation
Review consequences, contradictions, repeating patterns, and hidden costs.
22–28
Return
Correct, complete, release, archive, and preserve the Remnant of the cycle.
These four phases are a Codex reading structure, not a claim that every person or event must follow the same emotional or biological pattern.

Every day receives more than one name.

A day is not a prediction. It is a frame.
The reading gives attention a structure. It should help the user notice, name, compare, choose, and return—not surrender judgment to a generated message.

What conditions, responsibilities, emotions, resources, and unfinished matters enter the day?
What is directly happening before explanation or judgment?
What resembles earlier days, Moon cycles, or known habits?
What action is available now, and what is outside present control?
What must not be crossed even if urgency, fear, certainty, or desire increases?
What should be completed, released, repaired, recorded, or carried forward?
Memory Windows
The calendar creates consistent intervals for review.
1 day
Immediate witness: what happened, what changed, and what needs a next action.
7 days
Weekly pattern: repeated pressures, progress, conflict, energy, and unfinished work.
28 days
Moon review: intention, development, consequence, correction, and Remnant.
13 Moons
Year review: recurring themes, long projects, relationships, travel, craft, finances, health practices, and system changes.

A Moon review can be treated as a 28-day Memory Window built from daily witness.
Field Layers
A daily reading can combine multiple visible layers.
Calendar layer
Moon, Day, week position, cycle phase, and year-map coordinate.
Astronomy layer
Visible lunar phase, season, daylight, and other separately calculated celestial information.
Witness layer
Dated events, observations, conditions, choices, and corrections.
Symbolic layer
Element, frequency label, sigil, breath pattern, archetype, and reading language.
Pattern layer
Repeated words, events, relationships, locations, numbers, or outcomes across prior logs.
Action layer
The concrete next step, boundary, repair, question, or practice chosen for the day.
Reading Language
A reading should reveal possibilities, not issue commands.
Mirror
Reflect the pattern the user has recorded and the stage of the active cycle.
Question
Ask a focused question that helps separate witness, memory, desire, and fear.
Threshold
Name what may be opening, closing, repeating, or requiring correction.
Action
Offer a grounded practice: record, speak, pause, repair, organize, build, rest, or release.
Boundary
Preserve choice and ethical responsibility. Symbolic language should not replace evidence or consent.
Remnant
End with what is worth carrying into the next day rather than endless interpretation.
Pattern Detection
Repetition becomes useful only when the frame is visible.
A pattern should emerge from dated entries rather than from one vivid event.
State whether the pattern is daily, weekly, Moon-based, seasonal, or annual.
A trustworthy pattern review includes days when the expected event did not occur.
Two events sharing a number, phrase, or date may be meaningful to the witness without proving a causal mechanism.
When later entries weaken the interpretation, the alert should change rather than defend itself.
Ethical Calendar
Time systems can guide attention without governing another person.
No forced meaning
A reading should not assign motives, guilt, destiny, diagnosis, or obligation to someone who did not choose the framework.
No automatic authority
The calendar does not override law, medicine, safety, evidence, consent, or direct responsibility.
Visible calculation
Moon and Day coordinates, anchors, phase estimates, and saved records should be explainable and correctable.
Private by default
Personal witness logs should remain under the user’s control unless they choose to publish them.

Reading Moon 3 · Day 5.
Moon 3, Day 5 places the witness in the opening week of the third 28-day chamber.
The opening phase favors framing, gathering source, naming intention, and beginning a clean record.
What has begun to move, and what evidence exists before the story around it grows?
What entered from Moon 2 that is still shaping the present field?
Do not turn urgency into certainty or use symbolic timing to pressure another person.
