An unresolved source should remain unresolved rather than be made convincing through invention.
Equation 7 preserves the Copeland comparison slot in the Canon. The exact author, work, equation form, publication, and reason for inclusion have not yet been verified. This page therefore documents the comparison method and the evidence required before the comparator can become complete.

Unresolved Source Notice
The Copeland comparator remains unresolved until a primary or reliable secondary source confirms the author, model, notation, publication, and exact relation being compared.
The existing Canon architecture names Equation 7 as a “Copeland” external comparator. No verified bibliographic identity or equation form is presently attached to that name in the working theory record.
Why Preserve the Slot?
The Canon already contains the comparator name. Keeping the slot visible prevents silent rewriting of the project record.
A polished but unverified citation would create the appearance of scholarship without a trustworthy source.
A structured unresolved page shows exactly what evidence is still needed.
External models should enter only when their origin and differences remain clear.
Comparison Frame
\( \mathcal{X}_{\mathrm{ext}} \) is the verified external model. \( \mathcal{X}_{\mathrm{codex}} \) is the Codex relation being compared. The comparator records overlap, difference, limits, and source status without treating resemblance as proof of identity.

What is the exact equation, diagram, argument, or model in its source notation?
What subject does the external model actually address?
Which variables, operators, feedback patterns, or relationships resemble the Codex?
Where do terminology, units, assumptions, evidence, scope, and purpose diverge?
Does the source provide method, analogy, historical context, criticism, or independent overlap?

AUTHOR
Full name, relevant role, and any ambiguity among people sharing the surname.
WORK
Exact title of the paper, book, chapter, lecture, patent, archive, or other source.
DATE
Original date, edition, revision, translation, and later reprint where relevant.
FORM
The exact external notation, not a reconstruction invented from memory.
LOC
Page, section, figure, equation number, archive identifier, or stable source location.
DOMAIN
The actual problem, field, scale, and assumptions of the external model.
LINK
The specific Canon equation or concept being compared and why.
DIFF
A clear account of where the external model and Codex do not match.
Verification Protocol
Record exactly how “Copeland” entered the project without expanding the memory into a claim.
Identify the subject area originally associated with the comparator: physics, systems, economics, acoustics, cognition, or another field.
Distinguish among authors, researchers, inventors, or theorists who share the surname.
Find the original publication or an authoritative archive rather than relying only on summaries.
Preserve the equation, notation, surrounding explanation, units, and assumptions.
Use a second reliable source to verify attribution, interpretation, and publication details.
List structural overlap and explicit differences without forcing equivalence.
Classify the source as primary, secondary, comparator, archive, or unresolved.
Revise the Canon, bibliography, glossary, notation, and any chapter citing Equation 7.
Keep this unresolved edition in version history and document the date the comparator became verified.
Comparator Logic
Two models may both use feedback, weighting, fields, gradients, memory, or thresholds.
Similar mathematics may describe entirely different systems, scales, or evidence bases.
Shared symbols do not make unlike quantities directly interchangeable.
One model may predict measurable behavior while another organizes interpretation or practice.
Similar structure can emerge independently without proving copying, causation, or common origin.
A comparator may be most useful where it exposes a limit or contradiction in the Codex.
Future Equation Template
The final page should present the exact external equation first, then explain it in its own domain before comparing it with the Codex. The Codex adaptation must never replace the source’s original meaning.

A prior project note refers to a “Copeland equation” as similar to a Codex relation.
No full name, publication, equation number, quotation, or original source is attached.
