Equation 0
Canon 0 · Foundational Field
Before the field is interpreted, it must first be declared.
Equation 0 names the pre-interpretive field of the Codex. It does not claim that every aspect of reality is already known or physically unified. It establishes the space in which source, witness, language, memory, coherence, causality, ethics, and Remnant can be located and compared.

Equation 0
The Foundational Field \( \Psi_{\Omega}(x,t) \) is the declared set of active conditions—Energy, Information, Intention, Memory, Flow, and Consciousness— located inside a boundary \( \Omega \), position \(x\), and time \(t\).
The alternate form emphasizes function over measurement: Equation 0 gathers the active terms into one declared field before any relation among them is calculated.
Plain Language
Nothing is observed from nowhere. Every inquiry begins inside a place, a time, a body, a language, a set of available materials, prior memories, active flows, and a boundary around what will count as relevant. Equation 0 requires those conditions to be named.
The field is declared before deciding what an event means or which theory explains it.
Every model excludes something. \( \Omega \) makes the chosen boundary visible.
The variables \(x\) and \(t\) prevent observations from being detached from place and time.
When the boundary, location, terms, or conditions change, the field definition must change with them.
Terms
\( \Psi \)
The total declared configuration under examination. It may be conceptual, observational, social, material, acoustic, temporal, or multi-layered.
\( \Omega \)
The scope defining what is inside, outside, relevant, excluded, permitted, measurable, or ethically constrained.
\( x \)
The place, spatial relation, site, body position, object position, or other declared location coordinate.
\( t \)
The instant, interval, sequence, Moon coordinate, civil date, session duration, or other declared temporal frame.
\( E \)
Available capacity for change: force, effort, heat, motion, charge, labor, attention, or stored potential.
\( I \)
Pattern, measurement, instruction, language, code, geometry, signal, difference, and structure.
\( N \)
The declared direction, purpose, question, boundary, or desired action. \(N\) is used to avoid conflict with \(I\) for Information.
\( M \)
Prior witness, habit, archive, artifact history, retained structure, and weighted influence from earlier states.
\( F \)
Movement through the field: breath, water, signal, people, materials, money, attention, electricity, travel, or exchange.
\( C \)
The participating witness capable of attention, interpretation, choice, correction, and relationship.
Scope
Define the field, declare the boundary, locate the inquiry, gather the active Master Equation terms, and prepare the system for witness.
Prove a universal physical field, replace established field equations, establish unseen causes, or make every included term measurable in one unit.
A practical project may define measurable proxies for each term and use Equation 0 as a structured field inventory.
A philosophical or artistic reading may use the relation to organize meaning, provided the symbolic layer is clearly labeled.
Field Declaration
What object, event, person, system, claim, artifact, or process is being examined?
What is included, excluded, private, public, measurable, symbolic, or unresolved?
Where is the field physically, socially, digitally, or relationally located?
What instant, duration, sequence, civil date, or Codex cycle defines the inquiry?
Who acts, witnesses, controls, benefits, carries risk, or remains outside the frame?
What Energy, Information, Intention, Memory, Flow, and Consciousness are present?
What is observed, documented, inferred, symbolic, hypothetical, or unresolved?
What consent, privacy, safety, proportionality, and halt conditions apply?
Relation to the Master Equation
Equation 0 defines what is present in the field. The Master Equation proposes a compact relation among the same core terms. The first is a declaration; the second is a synthesis.
Relation to Δ0–Δ7
Declare \( \Psi_{\Omega}(x,t) \), its boundary, purpose, and evidence state.
Identify what supplies the field materially, informationally, and relationally.
Preserve observation before interpretation replaces it.
Control entry, define meaning, review retention, and test alignment.
Carry forward only what survives correction.
Worked Example
A compass reading observed near a copper, stone, ferrite, and magnet artifact.
The artifact, compass, operator, room, nearby electronics, surface, orientation, and five-minute test interval.
The measured distance and angle between the compass and artifact.
Date, start time, duration, and sequence of baseline and active conditions.
Energy: hand movement and magnetic interaction. Information: compass scale and notes. Intention: test for repeatable deflection. Memory: prior observation. Flow: movement through test positions. Consciousness: operator and observer.
A compass movement may be recorded directly. A wider causal mechanism remains unresolved until controls and repeated measurement support it.
Failure Modes
The field expands until every possible factor is included and no claim can be meaningfully tested.
Important participants, funding, equipment, prior knowledge, or environmental conditions remain outside the declared frame.
A meaningful symbolic relation is presented as though it were already a measured physical law.
Terms such as Energy, Information, or Consciousness change meaning during the same argument.
An observation is generalized beyond the place, equipment, person, or conditions in which it occurred.
A momentary event is presented as permanent, recurring, or historically continuous without evidence.
Ethical Boundary
A field declaration must respect consent, privacy, safety, proportionality, responsibility, and visible halt conditions. A system cannot ethically include another person merely because the operator considers them relevant.
Practice
Give the inquiry a stable working title.
Write one sentence defining what is inside and outside.
Record where and when the field exists.
List Energy, Information, Intention, Memory, Flow, and Consciousness.
Mark OBS, DOC, INF, SYM, HYP, REP, EXT, UNR, or RET.
State what would pause, narrow, or end the inquiry.
